To avoid doubles, I stopped directly posting notes to Twitter (and have the Mastodon-Twitter Crossposter handle it). Anyway, I just finished a WordPress plugin that tracks the resulting ‘orphaned’ Tweets and stores their URL in a custom field, so I can still link to them.
